Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What is the cost?
  • We customize each event to fit your groups size, location and budget.  Included in the cost will be all materials, furniture, instruction & lunch/snacks.  And a one-of-a-kind experience!  Each participant will get a t-shirt too.
2.  How long will we spend at our event?
  • Plan on spending 4-5 hours with us.  If you have time restrictions, we can customize an event to meet your requirements.
3.  Is there a dress code?
  • Paint splatters happen and the paints we use don't wash out of clothes.  Expect to get a little messy.  Dress comfortably and please wear closed toe shoes.
4.  I'm not creative!  Can I still participate?
  • Of course!  Everyone has something to contribute!  You might work with tools, or do repairs, or help select colors.  Never painted before?  That's ok - we will teach you how.  We have taught hundreds of students, and we promise to tap into your abilities.  You will not be bored!
5.  Are the products used toxic or smelly?
  • The products we use are non-toxic, water-based, and extremely low VOCs.  They are very safe to use (even during pregnancy)!  We use high-end furniture paint products, made in the USA.
6.  Is lunch provided or do we need to make our own arrangements?
  • We will provide lunch and snacks if requested. 
7.  Who are your non-profit partners?
  • There are many organizations that need furniture!  Currently we have two partners eager to work with us, and we are in the process of adding more. 
  • Gatepath has been "Turning Disabilities Into Possibilities", helping handicap children and adults actively participate in their communities.
  • SF Family & Children's Services Foster Care Program, helping foster kids who are aging out of the system get established on their own.
8.  Can we pick our own favorite non-profit?
  • If you have a favorite non-profit, please let us know.  We will contact them to determine their furniture needs, and would be happy to work with them!
9.  There are so many team building places.  Why should we choose you?
  • This is an opportunity for you to give back while having fun with your coworkers.
  • We design the event so your group collaborates in problem solving, creating and team building, while having fun!
  • We have over 20 years combined painting experience and 10 years teaching groups and individuals to transform furniture, and we love to have fun!
10.  Do you travel?
  • We can travel to you within the San Francisco Bay area and surrounding counties.  We will work with you to determine the best location for your event.  Please contact us for more information.
11.  Where do you host your team building events?
  • We have a lovely studio in Alameda, CA that can accommodate up to 20 people.  For larger groups, we have other options for locations around the SF Bay Area.  Or we can host events at your location.  Please contact us to discuss your needs.
